Sharif Linux is a bilingual (English-Persian) distribution based on GNU/Linux. It is designed to fulfil requirements of Iranian and Persian-language users. Its first version 1.0 was produced in June 2005, the first public release was version 2 in March 2006. Sharif Linux is maintained and marketed by Sharif FarsiWeb Inc., an Iran-based company established in 2003.

Sharif Linux 2 includes GNOME 2.10 and Linux Kernel 2.6.16.

FarsiWeb lists the Iranian branch of Royal Dutch Shell as one of their clients, mentioning that it "started to use Sharif Linux with version 1.0".
