MoviX is a bootable Linux CD that can convert a PC, even a HDD-less one, into a command-line driven, MPlayer-based multimedia player, which plays audio and video files, Internet radio, and can also make use of a TV tuner card.
While not being as powerful as a similar project, KnoppMyth, MoviX has much lower system requirements, and on a PC with high enough amount of RAM can run from memory, thus allowing the user to remove the CD from the drive and insert another CD with audio or video files. This feature makes MoviX usable on a PC which has no HDD or second CD-ROM drive.
The size of MoviX is very small, even smaller than of Damn Small Linux, making it much simpler to download (in comparison with KnoppMyth).
Creating a MoviX CD/DVD can be done with software such as MoviXMaker-2.
