Gnu-HALO is an experimental Linux distribution that incorporates some new and some old, but rarely used, ideas regarding Operating System Layout, User Interface Design and System Security. It boots and runs from removable media (either a CD-ROM or a USB drive) and is currently based off the SLAX distribution.
The latest release (as of 26-07-2006) is Gnu-HALO 0.1 Alpha.
