AegeanLinux is an i686-optimised Linux distribution created by Tim Groeneveld. The upcoming version will use the Frugalware branch of the Pacman package manager originally created by Judd Vinet.

Differences from Arch Linux

Much like Arch Linux, AegeanLinux aims to give advanced users flexibility at the expense of being less friendly towards new Linux users. The two distributions differ in that the AegeanLinux installer automatically installs a KDE desktop rather than leaving the user with a minimalist command line interface. Additionally, the utility aegconf is used to configure various system software including X11, Pacman, the firewall, etc. Two frontends are available for aegconf: an ncurses interface and a wxWidgets application. As stated above, AegeanLinux will use Frugalware's version of Pacman rather than the Arch Linux version.
